No Country For Old Men = Dumb
Movie Hype Can't Fool MeMe at the Movies

Hey, newsflash: Deep grizzled cowboy voices get tiresome after a while. As does the dusty frontier, as does the whole does-he-kill-him-or-doesn't-he suspense motif - especially when he always does. They try to vary the killings like a pediatrician with a goddam tetanus shot, messing with your timing: "count to 10... Onnnnne, twwwoooooo, thr-POW." But in the end, you get shot. So where's the suspense in that?
As for Tommy Lee Jones, he doesn't reallllly do anything. His character doesn't even carry a gun. I will say this about his character though: dude never misses a meal. I didn't keep track or anything, but I think he was having breakfast in every one of his scenes.

sunny side up, por favor...
I get it. Life and death is arbitrary. Nothing means anything. Drugs lead to nothing. Money leads to nothing. Evil leads to nothing. But, damned if Good doesn't end the same. Everything we do leads to nothing but death. There's chaos in order. Order in chaos. Have I got the themes? Cool. I'll be waiting on "Jumper." Hoo-ah.
