NY2LON @ SXSW on Concert TV

from NY2LON HQ in Brooklyn

Thanks to our friends at Habana Calle, Le Tigre, Brooklyn Vegan, Wiredset, High Wire, Human Giant, and The Gray Kid for making this event such a success. And of course, much love to all of the bands and their crews who just killed it. You can check out footage from the event courtesy of Concert TV (linkable to www.concert.tv) here...

Remember CMJ?
A LETTER FROM THE EDITED

HEY! I'm welcoming myself back. After a week's hiatus, we're coming full force with the latest in cutting-edge indie rock journalism. HAHAHAHA! Yes, we've been drinking a lot since we talked last and that's why I am currently laughing at my own joke (and credibility). But look what we have! Arriving in my yousendit folder this week, I was slapped with a sobering reminder of NY2LON's last event.

For those of you in attendance, the party was on the last Saturday of CMJ. We put a couple bottles of whiskey and boxes of pizza in the dressing room of NorthSix in Brooklyn, showed Illinois, Oh No! Oh My!, The Heights, The Phoenix Foundation, The Little Ones, and Silversun Pickups where the stage was and just let them do their thing. The video shows how great a time we all had, how awesome the bands were, and what a goofy son of a bitch Illinois' frontman Chris Archibald is. I swear, even though rubbing your head against someone you don't really know saying "this is how seals do it" seems childish, it's fucking hilarious. And kissing stranger's shoes: similarly weird and awesome....give it a try sometime.

We really had a good time that night and hope you did too (wherever you were). But what's important to learn from this glimpse into the past is what is to come in the very near future. SXSW is coming up! And NY2LON is going to take it to the next level for this one (that had hip hop inflection). We'll "drop" the details on you when the time is right (we have it all figured out, I swear). In the meantime, watch the video that Mr. Derek Morse put together for us, have some laughs, and start booking your travel to Austin. You might end up sleeping in the same parking lot as some of the folks you see in the video (and me).
